Simple ways to improve Interpersonal Skills

Human beings live in civilization and you are always surrounded by people. No matter what profession you practice, communication is always important. If you are a Teacher, Manager, Lawyer or an Engineer you will always be around people of different culture and thought. To be successful you will have to practice effective and intelligent communication.

Communication is the basic skill every living thing on this earth knows by birth, but here are some ways of effective communication skills, if you practice these you would see a difference in approach people will have for you. You will feel more connected!

Listening always helps

Fresher’s just out of college have great friends, big circles and you could be the one who is always to start the brilliant discussion, you are one who is telling people and you know what people in hostel listened to you. When you are out of college in the Race for survival into the corporate, you will find things different. You always speaking would draw more trouble than appreciation. This does not mean don't speak, but this means listen first, understand the topic and situation and the humbly put your point. People will love you for this!

A Smile brings hearts near

Sometimes people talk and give instructions to their juniors or take instructions from their seniors. Taking or giving instruction is just robotic, it lacks the human touch! A smile on your face relaxes the person in front of you no matter who he is. Always try to wear a smile on your face, but be cautious use it according to the situation!

When you applaud you win hearts

When you work with someone, especially the people working for you or your juniors its your responsibility to keep them engaged. When you appreciate someone you win hearts, you build a confidence for someone and gives them a feeling that they are important. Every management guru will teach you, if you want to grow take care of your team your surrounding you will grow automatically.

Don't think of revenge it will shatter you

You might face many situations where you have lost because of someone. If you are the one who is thinking of getting up with bolder move then the chances of your success is much higher than the one always planning for  a revenge. Always rise your success will automatically kill your enemies.

Be the one who makes people laugh

Ever thought of the guy in your college canteen who is always surrounded by friends always laughing and enjoying the moment? People love who can make someone happy and laugh, think of boss can you make him laugh? Do he like being with you? Grow you skills, read a lot you will have lots of things to talk!
Caution: Don't by cheap joke books to make people laugh and don't make fun of you.

Never think the world starts and ends with you. Think logical people have their own problems which you would never face. Place yourself into his place and try to feel the issue, you would be a great friend, team leader, manager or whatever you are.

Do you think you can build the rocket alone

You might be great, exceptional brain a true thought leader. But can you imagine reaching the goal alone? Even the chai wala who serves a tea during your research is a contributor, believe it. It is very exceptional that if you are reading this blog  and still you have the ability to move the earth on your own (You Googled me so you needed help to find me !! ) but if you are the one like me and rest of the world you will need a team to get it done. So the main point is be a team player, trust your team build your team and you will have success always around you.

Bitching..... aah let it be in the Dogs world

Be the person of honor people hate to listen complaints it’s done by only one community known as "Looser". Don't be looser be the doers, have the guts and face problems directly on face. You can be bad at that moment but you will always be an example.

Communicate.. it will relieve

Just thinking in your head does not transport the message to anyone else. If you have some message to pass, communicate it properly and precisely. If required elaborate yourself, ask questions to ensure the message is clearly passed.
Try these tips, and let us know if you found them useful!

How to get job in Breweries, Beverages and Distilleries plant

In today's India FMCG is the most booming sector then anything else. It has many sub-categories, in that breweries, beverages and distilleries are the best platform to work for an engineering graduate. This suggestion is not only because of high pay benefits but because its in initial phase of growth. This sector has lot more coming up in its way and has huge potential for growth in India. If you are looking for a job in this sector then gear up and grab your chance before it becomes too much crowded. This kind of industry generally requires mechanical ,electrical and instrumentation engineers.

As an aspirant, freshers keeps on bemusing regarding the kind of job they are trying to get, though they don't know exactly what is expected from them in those jobs. Some candidates catches the right path and some keep on looking around for guidance and help. For fresher in instrumentation, electrical and mechanical engineers needs  emphasis on their curriculum and project work.

Focus on learning

For instance an Electrical engineer  must have sound knowledge of  HT and LT lines, different types of motors and their working, substations etc., you can easily find these things on internet  and collage books.
For the instrumentation engineers, he must be expert with control engineering, process variable parameters, transducers etc.

As an instrumentation professional you need emphasize on few subjects before facing the interview. Generally recruiters ask the theoretical questions which includes types of communications, transducers, op-amps etc. Special emphasis should be on control engineering.

Study feedback systems, plots criteria(Nyquist, polar etc.) and their practical applications, process variables which includes flow, pressure, temperature etc and their associated instruments. These studies will equip you enough to face technical interview.

Additional training

If you still feel that you are not prepared enough take professional help. In many cases, company demands industry ready professionals which is quiet a trend taking up now a days. You can opt for a paid industrial training which are easily available everywhere. You can pursue the automation training  while being in collage or as you wish. Get trained into topics like ladder logics, PLC and Control hardware troubleshooting , PLC communications, Remote controlling,Embedded systems, VLSI etc.

Usually your training institute would provide job or at least 15-16 interviews which  I think is  enough to get a job. In the worst case if success is still away, decide your proficiency and strength, choose the industry type, list up the companies and get the contact and  mail id's of the concerned personnels. Contact them or upload your CV on their company's website and face the interview. Definitely you will hit the bull's eye. For writing good resume refer to earlier post "How to write good RESUME"

What to expect in your job

If you get in as a trainee engineer you will be trained from experienced professionals in your department and if you have already gone through training then you will be directly working in the production environment most probably looking after the maintainence of the plant. You will be tought  two basic things, one is maintenance and the second is to minimize the downtime. Both are different but mutually related to each other. Preventive maintenance activities are catalyzers to avoid the downtime. Both kind of job is designed only to boost production and efficiency. During your first few years you will learn to troubleshoot AC Drives, different types of transmitters, electrical devices, pneumatic valves,VFD's, control & relay panels, SCADA, HMI,PLC operations, soft starters etc.

How to write a good RESUME

One might often think what to include in my resume, how to start my resume. These are the basic questions which comes to everyone's mind. There is only one thumb rule while writing your resume "Cover every detail and elaborate your career highlights".

Resume writing is a very diligent task, do not hurry yourself while documenting it, do no copy from your friends resume. Your resume should be unique, tailored for your and should have the ability to make your stand ahead from the crowd.

The most common mistakes done by freshers in their resume is that make their CV a one page personal detail summary. A recruited is not going to find anything from it and its very easy to get ignored this way.

Before writing your resume make your self clear what kind of job you are looking at, if you are applying for the position of a software developer or a Manager in hospitality industry your resume should speak about it. Write down all the relevant work or studies your have done related to the job in a piece of paper. Try to articulate all the information you have and then showcase it in your resume.

Have a nice opening of your resume with a career goal. Write down what you what to accomplish from your would be job and where you want to head. Do not choose very fancy words, rather detail the true thoughts you have about your career.

After this cover your education details, highlight specific areas of your study which matches the kind of job you are looking at.

Projects taken during your UG/PG courses are an important opportunity to highlight your technical expertise and your strengths. Elaborate the problem statement which your project was solving, detail out the solution in two to three line. Talk about the team and your role in the team. This would be the most attractive part in your resume and will always attract the recruiters. Most of the candidates especially freshers miss this important opportunity to include project details in their resume.

Review out your write up and make necessary changes (shorten it if  its tool long or elaborate if required)

Cover your achievements if any during your academics, they are they brownie points which always help.

Your contact details can be at the top or at the bottom depends on your personal choice, but if your are covering your hobbies etc., make sure they are at the last.

Most important: Recruiting is a very challenging job, and a head hunter has to go through hundreds of resumes to filter out the probable candidate, your high impact CV will give you a first hand chance to get noticed and possible a conversion into a job.
