Job Profile

The primary responsibility of a telecom Engineer is to administrate the NORTEL and AVAYA telecom infrastructure for an enterprise. Job responsibility also includes implementation and troubleshooting of complex voice infrastructure.
Role Description

Provide technical and detailed design support for implementation of new AVAYA and Nortel voice infrastructure.
Daily Administration and Maintenance of S8700 & G3Si Definity Switch for IPLC & Domestic Phones. Administration & maintenance of CMS system
Administration & maintenance to be carried out on AVAYA/ Nortel Systems
Administration & Maintenance of Recording Solutions like creation of ids, queries generation, recorded call retrieval etc.
Configuration of Avaya/Nortel phones. Implementation of end-to-end Voice network infrastructure for an enterprise, call center business or per New Process requirement
Coordinate telecom implementation tasks and interface with the project managers.
Perform second level support functions for telecom problems in accordance with the SunGard problem management process. Assist Network Support Engineers as required.
Perform telecom configuration changes in response to client requests.
Review telecom requirements and engineering concerns associated with customer requests such as, EPABX/IVRS configuration and enhancement.
Escalate problems and changes to telecom vendors as required.
Maintain and support telecom management systems and software.
Mapping phone Configuration with processes.
Provide on-call support functions.
Maintain technical expertise, required industry certifications and stay current with new telecom technologies.
Shift work may be required

Mandatory Skills

Minimum three years industry experience in support role for a large enterprise or telecom service provider environment with Installation and support of a large IP network
Different Call Center configuration scenarios, ACD, IVR and Database interface, VoIP, PRI, E1, Dialing plan, Public Numbering, Trunk, ACD features.
Comprehensive knowledge of call center systems and solutions and the ability to implement and support such solutions in a timely and cost efficient manner.
Working experience on Nortel IVR, Nortel CCM and Nortel PBX
Experience with CODEC G.711, G.722, G.729. Experience with signaling Protocol MGCP, SIP, H.323, SCCP
Administration & maintenance of The Avaya Centre Vu computer Tele phony System (CVCT Server).
Troubleshooting all voice related issues on ACD, Logger, CVCT, CMS etc.
Patch installation System diagnosis, reinstallation, conversant with AvayaĆ¢€™s CM Documentation & Avaya support site.
Knowledge in Point-to-Point, T1, PRIs, ATM circuits. Must possess in-depth knowledge of Avaya equipment including VoIP, ACD/CMS, IP media gateways, Communications Manager and Audix voice technologies.
Installation of PRI and troubleshooting it, troubleshooting knowledge of CMS & its integration,
Different Call Center configuration scenarios, ACD, IVR and Database interface, VoIP, PRI, E1, Dialing plan, Public Numbering, Trunk, ACD features.
Monitoring performance of voice systems.
Switch/ PABX/ ACD Device Configuration.
Basic Configuration and Details of Phone/Voice ports Diagram.
Avaya Certified Associate (ACA) or Avaya Certified Specialist (ACS)is preferred certification

Desired Skills

CCNA/CCNP or CCVP certification is highly desired
Avaya Certified Expert (ACE) or Nortel Networks Certified Design Specialist (NNCDS) certification is highly desired
Working knowledge of Cisco call Manager and various network routing and switching protocols.
Ability to effectively use network diagnostic tools is desired
Avaya Certified Associate (ACA) or Avaya Certified Specialist (ACS)is preferred certification
